Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had a telephone conversation during which they exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and the negotiations on the restoration of the nuclear deal with Tehran, as well as discussed a number of other issues. This was said in a statement released Friday night on the official Telegram channel of the Islamic Republic's foreign ministry.

It said Abdollahian, referring to the technical dialogue between the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, "called the cooperation of the parties worthwhile." In addition, the Iranian diplomatic chief informed the UN secretary-general about the "exchange of messages between Iran and the United States" that took place within the framework of negotiations in Vienna to restore the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program.

Iran's foreign minister reiterated that Tehran did not send drones to Russia for use in the fighting in Ukraine. "Amir Abdollahian once again strongly denied groundless accusations of sending drones to Russia in order to use them in the conflict in Ukraine," the text of the statement reads.

In addition, Abdollahian criticized the positions and actions of a number of Western countries regarding the protests in Iran. According to him, some Western governments "encouraged violence in cyberspace and the media and taught to make Molotov cocktails and weapons, which led to victim among the policemen and unrest in the country."
