Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has called to boycott Israeli goods and exclude Israel from the UN General Assembly, during an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries.
"During an extraordinary meeting of OIC foreign ministers in Jeddah, I emphasized the urgent need to promptly expel the genocidal Israeli regime from the UN General Assembly and terminate its membership in other international organizations. Severing diplomatic relations with this regime, ceasing exports of goods to the occupied Palestinian territories, and implementing an absolute boycott of Israeli goods could serve as practical steps to support Palestine," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Abdollahian's call for action comes as part of an emergency session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which he attended in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on March 5. The session was convened to address the situation in Palestine. During his visit, Abdollahian also met with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, including Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Hakan Fidan, and Jeyhun Bayramov.
