JCC representatives start inspection of first grain ship from Ukraine

03 August 2022

A delegation from the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) on Wednesday started inspecting the first dry cargo ship with Ukrainian grain, Razoni, anchored near Istanbul. The arrival of the center's representatives to the ship, which is 1 kilometer off the coast, was broadcasted live by NTV channel. The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed the start of the inspection.

The delegation of the center set out to sea on two Turkish coast guard boats at 10:15 local time (the same time as in Moscow). It took about 20 minutes to reach the dry cargo ship. The inspection procedure is expected to take about two hours. If no violations are detected, the bulk carrier will be allowed to enter the Bosphorus and sail on to its destination point in Lebanon.

Sierra Leone-flagged cargo vessel Razoni, loaded with almost 27,000 tons of corn, left Odessa port Monday morning. It arrived at the anchorage near Istanbul's Saryer district at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
