Russian and Jordanian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Ayman Safadi discussed over the phone the implementation of the Astana agreements on Syria, as well as the Palestinian-Israeli settlement.
'The ministers exchanged views on key aspects of the regional agenda, with a focus on developments in Syria including assistance in solving the problems of civilians in full compliance with the requirements of international humanitarian law," the message of the press-service reads.
The parties also expressed "satisfaction with the agreement reached by the Syrian parties regarding the further work of the Constitutional Committee."
Safadi "praised Russian efforts to support the implementation on the ground of the agreements reached within the Astana format".
The ministers also discussed the Middle East settlement, reaffirming that it is unacceptable to take unilateral approaches and necessary to create the conditions, as soon as possible, for the resumption of direct Palestinian-Israeli dialogue based on the decisions of the UN and the Arab Peace Initiative.
