Kazakhstan canceled a conference of the World Trade Organization due to coronavirus

Kazakhstan announced the cancellation of the Ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization, which was supposed to be held in Nur-Sultan in June.


According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of the Republic Alikhan Smailov, the organizers took this measure because of the spread of a new type of coronavirus in the world.


"The relevant letters were sent to the WTO headquarters, where our decision was supported with full understanding", Smailov said, in particular.


In the world, about 120 thousand people have been infected with the coronavirus in more than 100 countries, more than 4 thousand died.


The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a pandemic.
