Kazakhstan has expressed high appreciation for Russian President Vladimir Putin's participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Astana on July 4, Maulen Ashimbayev, Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan's Parliament, said during a meeting with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko at the X BRICS Parliamentary Forum.
Ashimbayev emphasized the significance of Putin's presence and his supportive, informative speech at the summit. "We value it very much," Ashimbayev stated.
He highlighted that the summit resulted in the adoption of key documents, including the Astana Declaration. Ashimbayev underscored the importance and potential of the SCO, aligning its priorities with those of BRICS. He noted that both organizations aim to develop balanced, open, stable, and secure international relations. Kazakhstan, he added, is prepared to actively participate in the BRICS+ format.
