Kazan Prepares for 20,000 Guests at October BRICS Summit

Kazan is gearing up to host approximately 20,000 guests for the BRICS summit in October, according to Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin.

 

“We are expecting 20,000 status guests for the BRICS summit,” Metshin said. “We have never hosted such a large number of guests at one time, over three days. For them, we have prepared 70 different accommodation facilities, including 53 hotels in Kazan.”

 

Metshin added that the city's hotels are currently undergoing construction and finishing touches, along with additional landscaping. “As of now, 37 hotels are ready to receive guests. The remaining work is expected to be completed within a month,” he noted.

 

The press service reported that delegations from the participating countries will be accommodated in 25 city hotels. An additional 16 hotels will house journalists and accompanying personnel, while 10 more will cater to volunteers and law enforcement officers.
