The Kremlin is hopeful that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold talks during the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan this October. Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential press secretary, confirmed this during a briefing in response to a question from TASS.
“We are counting on the possibility of the two presidents meeting in Kazan during the BRICS summit if it happens,” Peskov stated. “But we hope that such an opportunity will arise.”
Russia holds the BRICS presidency in 2024, with the summit scheduled for October 22-24 in Kazan. Alongside the meeting of BRICS leaders, the summit will include outreach events where leaders of major and developing nations are expected to participate.
