The Russian military does not take part in any military processes in Libya, and the activities of organized groups of Russian citizens there are unknown, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov told reporters. According to him, the Kremlin "does not have any information on this matter."
"The Russian military does not take part in any processes in Libya in any way," Peskov said. "We are not aware of any organized Russian citizens who may take part there."
Earlier, a number of media reported that the African command of the US armed forces accused the Russian PMC "Wagner" of importing mines to Libya in circumvention of the UN embargo.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said in June that " information distributed by a number of foreign sources, including the US State Department, about the presence in Libya of employees of the Wagner PMC and their participation in hostilities on the side of the Libyan National Army of Khalifa Haftar is mostly based on falsified data and is aimed at discrediting Russia's policy in the Libyan direction."
