The head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Zhaparov, during his visit to US in mid-April, intends to convey to US officials that Kyrgyzstan cannot halt its trade partnership with Russia.
"I will have several meetings in April. Specifically, on the 14th and 20th [of April], there will be a significant presentation of the Kambar-Ata-1 Hydropower Plant in Washington. During these meetings, I will try to explain that we cannot completely halt our trade and economic relations with the Russian Federation, as Russia is our strategic partner," Zhaparov stated during a session of the Kyrgyz Supreme Council.
