Kyrgyz president thanked Russia for helping his country, including during the pandemic

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov thanked Russia for helping his country and its citizens, including during the pandemic. He made this statement during a meeting with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko on Thursday in the upper house of the Russian parliament.


"I express my special gratitude to the Russian Federation for its support during the COVID-19 pandemic," the Kyrgyz president said. Zhaparov noted that the Russian Federation sent medical supplies, equipment and personal protective equipment to Kyrgyzstan as humanitarian aid. "In the peak of the pandemic, we felt the brotherly help in the form of medical teams who helped our doctors to save lives and shared treatment protocols and experience. Your help is invaluable," Zhaparov said.

 

 

The Kyrgyz president emphasized Russia's support for Kyrgyz citizens to stay in Russia during the pandemic and help them return home when all forms of international communications were suspended. "In such a difficult period throughout the world, our compatriots have felt the introduced easing and calmly continued to stay on the territory of your country," Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.


The President of Kyrgyzstan assured that his country will continue to participate in the process of Eurasian integration within the framework of such organizations as the EEU, CIS, CSTO and SCO. "We highly appreciate Russia's practical assistance to our country since joining the EEU," Zhaparov said. "I want to assure you that Kyrgyzstan will be a constructive partner, a loyal friend and a reliable ally of Russia," he stressed.


Sadyr Zhaparov noted the high level of inter-parliamentary dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. He thanked the leadership of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and personally Valentina Matvienko for the active participation of Russian parliamentarians in the international monitoring of the preparation and conduct of early presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan on January 10, 2021.
