Russia considers possible production of coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in Pakistan as a promising initiative. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this on Wednesday at a press conference following talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

"In countries that are our foreign partners, such production has already been set up and in India now begins, and in Korea, in Belarus," he said. - "Of course, we are ready to try to help our Pakistani colleagues meet their needs as much as we can, but again, we have obligations to those countries that have approached us earlier, but I think this is a very promising topic. Our respective experts will work on its implementation".

As Lavrov noted, Pakistan "has already been supplied with 50,000 doses of Russian vaccine, another 150,000 will be supplied soon." "Pakistan's needs are, of course, much greater, but so far everything rests on the ability to produce this vaccine," the Russian Foreign Minister added.
