Russia is ready to provide assistance to Afghanistan in the fight against the coronavirus if Kabul provides a list of medical supplies it needs, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told at a press conference.
"Everything will depend on what specific means of protection and equipment are required in Afghanistan. If the relevant nomenclature is set out in the application, I assure you that it will be promptly reviewed within the operational headquarters, which was established as part of the fight against the coronavirus infection," the head of Russian diplomacy said in particular.
Earlier, Kabul asked Moscow to provide assistance in the fight against the coronavirus. Now the Russian authorities, as the Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Alexander Mantytsky said RIA Novosti, are working on a response to this appeal.
According to the latest data, the number of cases of the coronavirus infection in Afghanistan has exceeded 11 thousand since the beginning of the pandemic, about 1,100 people cured of the infection, and 219 people died.
