Lavrov States Russia, Together with OIC, Will Combat Islamophobia and Russophobia Worldwide

Russia, together with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), will continue to combat Islamophobia, Christianophobia, and Russophobia worldwide. This was stated in a greeting from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the participants of the Forum of Young Diplomats of the OIC countries. The conference is being held on the sidelines of the international economic forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum".

 

"We are ready, together with the OIC, to promote interreligious and intercultural dialogue, defend spiritual and moral values common to all world religions, combat Islamophobia, Christianophobia, Russophobia, and other forms of racial, ethnic, and cultural intolerance," emphasized the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

 

"Russia is the largest Eurasian state, a civilization-state that traditionally maintains fair and respectful relations with Muslim countries," - Lavrov stressed. - "We are firmly united by a strong commitment to the cultural and civilizational distinctiveness of the world's peoples, their natural right to preserve their traditions and history, and to determine the paths of their development."

 

According to the foreign minister, Russia is a consistent supporter of forming a more just, democratic, and UN Charter-based multipolar world order.
