Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will participate in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CMFA) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to be held in India on May 4-5, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday.
"From May 4 to 5, the head of the Russian MFA will take part in a meeting of the CMFA of the SCO member states in India," she said.
"The foreign ministers in this format plan to give priority to the content of the next meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the SCO member states, which is scheduled for July 3 to 4 in New Delhi, including consideration of draft relevant documents and decisions," she added.
In addition, according to the diplomat, an exchange of views on topical subjects of the international and regional agenda is planned.
According to the diplomat, the Russian foreign minister has "a number of bilateral meetings" planned on the margins of the event.
