Foreign Ministers of Russia and Qatar Sergey Lavrov and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani will hold talks in Moscow on June 22, spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry Maria Zakharova said.
"On June 22, the head of the Russian foreign ministry will hold talks with the chairman of the council of ministers and foreign minister of the state of Qatar [Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani]. He is on a working visit to Moscow," Zakharova said.
The diplomat noted that during the talks, the ministers will thoroughly discuss key issues of further development of multifaceted Russian-Qatari relations. "There will be a detailed exchange of views on topical aspects of the international and regional agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Sudan and the Arab-Israeli settlement," she stressed.
According to Zakharova, it is planned to pay special attention to the prospects of "long-term sustainable stabilization of the situation in the Persian Gulf zone through building collective response mechanisms to existing challenges and threats involving all interested states in this region."
