Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune counts on the development of relations with Russia in all areas - in agriculture, industry and culture.
"<...> Everyone knows that Algeria is not an economic power compared to the Russian Federation, but we are striving to become a power on the African continent. And we have already started to regain economic strength," he said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"As for my first visit, I think it comes under special political circumstances. Our relations have not progressed quickly in recent years, and we need to strengthen them," he said, adding that there is still mutual understanding between the countries politically.
As for the economic ties, the Algerian president said they need to be developed. "I wish that our economic relations would strengthen in all areas - in agriculture, in industry, in culture," he said.
