Deputies of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Ingushetia elected Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov as the head of the region. According to RIA Novosti, he has already taken the oath of office.
"I undertake to comply with the Constitution of the Republic of Ingushetia, faithfully fulfill the duties assigned to me by the people of Ingushetia, to respect and defend the human and civil rights, to protect the security and territorial integrity of the Republic of Ingushetia", the agency quotes, in particular, Kalimatov.
Previously, Kalimatov temporarily acted as head of the Republic after the previous head of the region Yunus-Bek Yevkurov resigned.
According to the Republican legislation, the head of Ingushetia is elected by deputies of Parliament by secret ballot from among the candidates submitted by the President of Russia.
