Malaysia is negotiating the supply of 6.4 million doses of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V, Reuters reported, citing the statement of Malaysian Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
According to the Minister, the country's authorities are also in talks with Pfizer and BioNTech on a possible increase in the purchase of vaccines.
The day before Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced that the country's authorities have signed an agreement to purchase 6.4 million doses of vaccines against coronavirus from the British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, and are also negotiating with the Chinese companies Sinovac and CanSino and Russian Gamaleya Research Center for Ecology and Medicine.
Earlier it was reported that the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia Mohamed Azmin Ali said that the country's government expects to receive the first batch of the coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer in February next year.
