Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of the Iranian delegation to the nuclear deal negotiations, Ali Bagheri Kani, will visit the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday. This was reported by Tasnim news agency on Monday, citing a source at the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
The agency does not specify the purpose of the visit. Earlier on Monday, Mohammad Morandi, Advisor to the Iranian negotiating team, said Tehran had chosen Qatar as the venue for a new round of talks on restoring the nuclear deal.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on Saturday following consultations with the Iranian side in Tehran that talks on reviving the nuclear deal would resume within days. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian also confirmed that Tehran was ready to return to the negotiating table in the nearest future.
