Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian is set to visit Lebanon this week, as reported by Al Hadath TV, citing sources familiar with the matter.
During his two-day stay in the Lebanese capital, Abdollahian is expected to engage in discussions and meetings. This visit coincides with the upcoming trip of Jean-Yves Le Drian, the special envoy of the French president to Lebanon.
As of now, there is no detailed information available regarding who Abdollahian plans to meet with in Beirut. The Iranian foreign ministry has not officially commented on the foreign minister's visit.
Abdollahian's previous visit to the Lebanese capital took place on April 27-28, during which he held discussions with prominent figures such as Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, and Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah. Their conversations focused on fostering comprehensive cooperation between Iran and Lebanon, as well as assessing the evolving situation in the Middle East.
