Beirut will file a complaint with the UN Security Council against Israel for using Lebanese airspace to launch strikes against Syria. This was reported Monday by the El Watania news agency, citing a statement from the Lebanese MFA.
"The ministry of foreign affairs and migration strongly condemns Israel's recent attack on Syria and the use of Lebanese airspace to bomb Syrian territory," the statement reads. The ministry intends to "file a complaint with the Security Council requesting that serious measures be taken to put an end to Israel's continued violations."
On Sunday, Israel launched a series of missile strikes against Syrian Armed Forces positions near Damascus. A spokesman for the Syrian army command told the SANA news agency that the Israeli attack killed three soldiers and wounded three others.
According to the agency, the missiles were aimed at military positions in the mountainous Al-Qalamoun region on the Syrian-Lebanese border, as well as ground facilities south of the port city of Tartus.
