On February 8, a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy was held in Bolgar with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Sergey Kiriyenko.
The event started with a tour. Sergey Kiriyenko and Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Museum, library, and classrooms.
The BIA Rector Daniyar Abdrakhmanov in his report spoke about the activities of the Academy, noting that currently 96 undergraduates and 26 doctoral students study there. There are 15 teachers - 5 full-time and 10 part – time. The specialization is the Islamic law. This year, in addition to the new doctors of science, the first graduate of the Master's Degree in Islamic law is also expected.
The meeting was also attended by Mufti Talgat Hazrat Tajutdin, Chairman of the Central Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan, Vladimir Vasiliev, Head of Republic of Dagestan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov, and many others.
