The authorities of Kazakhstan, against the background of the increasing number of people arriving in the republic from Russia, are guided by the current legislation of the country and international treaties. This is stated in the comments of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry published on Friday on the order of entry and stay of the Russians.

"Kazakh-Russian cooperation has always been distinguished by a high level of trust and constructive approaches. In the current situation, the state authorities of Kazakhstan are guided by the current legislation of the country and international treaties," the document reads.

The agency also commented on the concerns of some Kazakhstanis about the growth of the number of Russian citizens coming to the republic. "There is a procedure for the entry and stay of foreign citizens in Kazakhstan, the Border Service of the National Security Committee and the Interior Ministry control them. Today, all government agencies are working in a normal mode and ensure constant control over the situation. At the same time, foreign nationals of any country do not have the right to stay in Kazakhstan indefinitely and must comply with the migration legislation of our country," the ministry noted.

They also stressed that Kazakhstan is a country governed by the rule of law. "And our actions must be based on this postulate. Consequently, the existing agreements must be respected and possible violations must be suppressed administratively. The state has enough mechanisms to protect national interests, which are above all. In any complex geopolitical situation around us, we will proceed from the priority of national security. The stability of our state in the turbulent situation around passes a serious test," reads the commentary.

It points out that the high humanity inherent in the Kazakh people dictates the need to follow  certain moral rules. "We believe that our citizens will show their inherent wisdom and remain faithful to the traditions of hospitality. The head of state has repeatedly stressed the importance of the unity of the people in any situation. It is important to remember that any harsh statement or action can have an undesirable effect in a difficult situation," said in the MFA.

According to it, the infrastructure of Kazakhstan now allows to relatively painlessly pass the current situation with migration, service facilities work within their capacities. "We are carefully monitoring the current situation, if there are serious risks, appropriate measures will be taken considering international law and national legislation,"  explained in the ministry.

In addition, they urged to trust the official and objective information of government agencies, which will help avoid unnecessary speculation.
