As part of the opening of the Aitmatov Readings, which is held in Kazan, Tatarstan State Councilor Mintimer Shaimiev noted that it is a great honor to hold a forum of writers and intellectuals in Tatarstan.
"The Aitmatov Readings is an event aimed at developing a dialogue of cultures between peoples. It is that soft, powerful force which helps find common ground in this contradictory world."
Shaimiev also noted that the holding of Aitmatov Readings together with the Group of Strategic vision is a self - evident. Like Chingiz Aitmatov, the founder of the Group Yevgeny Primakov also adhered to humanistic values, wanting to convey to people the diversity of our world and the need for dialogue.
