The collective West is stepping up sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus, even though it itself feels the negative repercussions of such a policy, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, speaking Friday at an enlarged meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
"The situation is rapidly changing, the collective West is increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus, despite the fact that the negative impact of such a policy is felt by its initiators themselves," the Russian prime minister said.
According to him, the international economic and trade system is being undermined, the usual ties and ways are being broken. Under these conditions, Mishustin stressed, the Eurasian Economic Union has proved its effectiveness.
