Mishustin: West imposes its rules at odds with formation of new world order

01 November 2022

The West is trying to impose its rules, but a more just world order is already shaping up in the world, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Tuesday at a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government.

He noted that the meeting is taking place in a challenging environment. "The processes of fundamental transformation in world politics and economics are accelerating. A more just world order is being formed," Mishustin said.

"Against these global trends, the collective West continues to try to impose its own rules. Illegal sanctions, interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, blackmail and provocations are in play. All this has a negative impact on the architecture of global security and economic stability, there is a slowdown of the growth rate of world economy, the volatility of energy, commodity, commodity, food and financial markets," the head of the Russian cabinet of ministers said.

In this regard, he recalled the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that the SCO continues to develop steadily, increasing its role in solving international and regional problems, in maintaining peace, security and stability in the vast Eurasian space.
