The Moscow Islamic Institute (MII) resumed work after the quarantine and returned the license, according to a statement published on the website of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation.
"Currently, the MII license has been restored, all the Institute's services are working, and the admission campaign is actively being conducted. During the period of self-isolation and suspension of educational activities, not a single employee of the University was dismissed, and the work process was redirected to research, as well as the creation of textbooks," the report says.
It is noted that earlier, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the educational process and communication of graduate students with scientific supervisors was transferred to online. Also," for technical reasons that did not depend on the MII", the University's license was suspended, the organization explained.
"In this situation, two other Islamic universities in Russia – the Russian Islamic Institute and the Daghestan humanitarian Institute-have helped. They have enrolled students for the end of the last semester and for the defense of previously prepared theses," the Religious Board reports.
As a result, graduates of the Moscow Islamic Institute in 2020 received diplomas. Also, during the pandemic, the University created the necessary conditions for people with disabilities, who can now be students of the MII.
