Nebenzya Accuses Israel of Cynical Attitude Towards Civilian Casualties in Lebanon

11 October

Israel views civilian casualties in Lebanon as mere "collateral damage" in the spirit of "you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs," Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya stated during a UN Security Council meeting.

"The cynicism of these attacks is staggering, with some targeting densely populated areas of Beirut and other Lebanese cities. It appears that the authorities in West Jerusalem not only blatantly violate international humanitarian law but also treat civilian losses as incidental damage, following the logic of 'collateral damage is inevitable'," Nebenzya emphasized.

He further noted that "the unprecedented escalation of violence in Gaza extends far beyond the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, destabilizing more countries across the Middle East."
