Russian citizens were not injured in an explosion that occurred on Monday in the western town of Mazar-e-Sharif in northern Afghanistan, the Russian embassy in Kabul told TASS.
"According to the currently available information, there are no Russians among the dead and injured," the diplomatic mission informed.
Earlier, the Asvaka agency reported that at least nine people were killed in an explosion in Mazar-e-Sharif.
