Pakistani and Omani Navies Conduct Joint Exercises in the Gulf of Oman

The Pakistani and Omani Navies recently conducted joint maneuvers in the Gulf of Oman, as reported by The News.

 

The exercises involved the Pakistani corvette "Yarmouk" and the Omani corvette "Al-Sib." The primary goal of these drills was to enhance the effectiveness of collaboration between the two navies during joint operations in the region.

 

The "Yarmouk" corvette, built under the OPV 1900 project by the Dutch shipbuilding company Damen Shipyards, was constructed at a shipyard in Galati, Romania. The vessel displaces 2,300 tons, measures 91 meters in length, 14 meters in width, and has a draft of 4 meters. It can reach speeds of up to 23 knots (42.6 km/h) and is crewed by 138 personnel. The corvette is also capable of carrying one medium-lift helicopter on board.
