The Palestinian government has made an urgent appeal to the international community, humanitarian organizations, and human rights groups, urging them to "intervene and stop the daily atrocities committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people," according to the WAFA news agency.
The appeal was issued following an Israeli airstrike on the Tulkarm refugee camp on Thursday, which hit a popular café, killing 18 people and injuring dozens.
"In a time when most of the world has voted in favor of a UN General Assembly resolution calling for the occupation to end within 12 months, this massacre highlights Israel’s disregard for international resolutions and reflects its behavior as a state acting above the law," the Palestinian administration stated. The authorities also emphasized that they "will continue their efforts to expose the crimes of the occupation on the international stage and hold Israel accountable for its actions."
The statement added, "The threats and actions by the Israeli occupiers, aimed at undermining Palestinian institutions, will not weaken Palestine's commitment to the creation of a fully sovereign Palestinian state and the right of its people to freedom and self-determination."
