Israel will persist with its aggression in the Gaza Strip, even if members of the Palestinian Hamas movement release hostages and surrender themselves. Dr. Jawad Awad, the Palestinian Ambassador to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, told TASS.
"What Israel is currently doing in is not a fight against any particular group, especially Hamas. It amounts to a war against the Palestinian people, with the objective of forcing the remaining Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip into the Sinai desert. In essence, it is the continuation of the well-known Zionist slogan 'A land without a people for a people without a land.' Their perspective is that this part of Palestine and the Gaza Strip should be entirely cleansed," the diplomat stated.
In his view, even if Hamas were to release the hostages, it would not alter the situation, let alone result in the surrender of the group itself. "There's no incentive for Hamas to surrender, as Israel would persist in its actions to compel the remaining Palestinian population to seek safety elsewhere," he stressed.
