Palestine is interested in resuming the work of the Quartet of international mediators for the Middle East settlement (Russia, the US, the EU and the UN), Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Hafiz Nofal told TASS on Monday.
"Of course, we would like this (resumption of the Quartet's work - TASS)," he said in response to a related question. - "We are very interested in this, and we are still convinced that only the Quartet was really an effective format for resolving the situation."
According to the ambassador, Palestine is convinced that negotiations on a Middle East settlement are unlikely to be possible with the current Israeli government. "The situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has become more difficult, more complicated. And we are sure that this is the worst government in the history of Israel," he said. - "If we talk about the future, we are sure that nothing will happen in terms of negotiating and making peace."
