The United States and Israel are planning "something bad" in Rafah, according to Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Hafiz Nofal, who spoke with TASS.
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not want [humanitarian pauses]. And the Americans—because they are preparing, plotting something not good. They want to, they're pushing. Maybe something will happen in Rafah," Nofal stated.
"We have to do something. We are confident in Russia's position, China's position, we know that. They always support our position," he continued. "But unfortunately, until now, the Americans in the Middle East do not make it possible [to create two states]."
The ambassador highlighted the global consensus that the situation in Gaza is dire and calls for it to end, yet Israel "still attacks." He attributed this to American support, stating, "Why? Because there is American support. There is simply American support."
