The second parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan are to be held before March of the next year. This was announced on Friday in his Telegram-channel by Acting President of Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov.
"The elections will be held until March (next year)", - he wrote. In his opinion, the national parliament in this matter "will not delay until June". The decision of the people's deputies to postpone repeated parliamentary elections, Zhaparov said, was taken "in the interests of the people.
On Thursday, deputies of the highest legislative body of Kyrgyzstan decided to cancel repeated parliamentary elections, which were appointed by the CEC on December 20, and to postpone them until "no later than June 1, 2021". The deputies explained this fact by the need for constitutional reform, the lack of funds in the budget and the difficult situation associated with the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
