Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev said that he had reached agreements with his American and Israeli counterparts on most issues relating to a settlement in Syria.
“In many ways, we agreed on most of the questions about what we want to see Syria in the end. We will have a dialogue on how to do this”, - the head of the Russian Security Council noted.
Speaking about the situation in the Middle East as a whole, Patrushev said that terrorism remains the main threat.
“Сhallenges and threats that exist in the Middle East are not mythical, they are real, they must be resisted. The forces of ISIS (banned in the Russian Federation) in Syria have become much smaller, as the US has managed to do that in Iraq too. But, if we talk about this terrorist organization, we must understand that it has not disappeared, but its fighters from these two countries have spilled over into a number of others”, - he stressed.
