International terrorist organizations continue to try to transfer their fighters who fought in Syria and Iraq to Russia, the Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev told a meeting on national security in the Ural Federal district.
"Attempts to transfer to our country people who have received combat experience as part of gangs in Syria and Iraq do not stop," he said, adding that the threat of terrorism in Russia today continues to exist.
In particular, there are secret, so-called "sleeping" cells of international terrorist organizations operating on the territory of the country, which, among other things, are engaged in collecting funds for their activities.
