Russian Security Council (SB) Secretary Nikolai Patrushev will visit Uzbekistan on August 18-19 to take part in a meeting of secretaries of security councils of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries, the press service of Russia's SB office reported on Wednesday.
"On August 19 in Tashkent, Nikolai Patrushev will take part in the seventeenth annual meeting of secretaries of security councils of SCO member states," the statement said.
As the SB staff explained, there will be an exchange of views on the security and stability situation in the SCO space.
"It is planned to discuss issues related to the further development of cooperation in the areas of combating terrorism, extremism, illicit drug and weapons trafficking, transnational organized crime, as well as ensuring international information security," the message reads.
