President of Iran sent greetings to Putin on Russia Day

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the Russian people on the national holiday -Russia Day - and expressed confidence that relations between Moscow and Tehran will continue to develop.


"I would like to sincerely congratulate Your Excellency and the people of Your country on the day of the Russian Federation. Over the past years, relations between the two countries have developed and deepened in the context of common interests. I am sure that mutual relationship based on valuable past experience will continue to expand in the context of the interests and enhance the well-being of the two peoples," the message reads (the text is provided by Iranian Embassy in Moscow).
Rouhani added that Iran and Russia "bear responsibility and have joint interests in strengthening stability and regional security."


"In this regard, there are ongoing consultations between the two countries at various levels, the continuation of which is necessary," the Iranian President stressed.


"I take this opportunity to wish Your Excellency health and well–being, and glory and prosperity to the government and people of Russia," he concluded.


Other Iranian officials also joined the congratulations on Russia Day. First Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri sent a message to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, expressing hope for further deepening and development of relations between Iran and Russia in various fields.


Recently elected Chairman of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf addressed congratulations to the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, noting the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in promoting the common interests of the two countries.
