President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held a meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, in New York. The discussions centered on expanding cooperation and addressing the global economic situation, as reported by the president's press service.
"During his working visit to New York, President Sadyr Zhaparov of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan met with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. They engaged in discussions regarding the enhancement of mutually beneficial cooperation with the IMF and the evolving global economic situation," stated a message on the president's Telegram channel.
Zhaparov emphasized Kyrgyzstan's high regard for its partnership with the IMF, acknowledging the consistent support received for advancing structural reforms and overall economic development in the country.
Georgieva, in response, evaluated the outcomes of the ongoing reforms within Kyrgyzstan, expressing the IMF's commitment to intensifying collaboration with the Kyrgyz authorities.
"In conclusion, both sides affirmed their commitment to bolstering effective cooperation in the pursuit of implementing a comprehensive program of economic and social reforms as outlined in the agreements with the IMF," stated the presidential press office.
