Former Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin was awarded the Order of the Cedar on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic mission in Beirut.
"President of Lebanon Michel Aoun presented the National Order of the Cedar of the great officer degree to Russian Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin at the Baabda Palace on Monday," the press service of the head of state said.
It states that the Russian diplomat was awarded "for his role in strengthening Russian-Lebanese relations in many areas."
Zasypkin has served as the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon since October 1, 2010. On August 14, 2020, he was relieved of his post and Alexander Rudakov was appointed as the new Ambassador.
