President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon proposed to create a common list of terrorist organizations banned in the territory of the CIS member states.
"I consider it relevant to create a single list of terrorist and extremist organizations banned in the territory of CIS member states within the CIS," Rahmon said Friday at a meeting of the Council of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) heads of state, which is held via videoconference.
Rahmon suggested instructing the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, together with specialized councils, to begin work on forming such a list.
"The scale of terrorism, extremism, various forms of radicalism and transnational organized crime, including drug trafficking and cybercrime has a tendency to expand," the president noted. He stressed that the problem of security continues to be urgent, both globally and in the Commonwealth.
