Uzbekistan offers to hold an annual forum of Central Asian regions in order to further develop trade and economic relations between the countries of the region, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at a consultative meeting of the heads of states of Central Asia in Cholpon-Ata on Thursday.
"In order to further develop trade and economic ties, we also propose to wider use the potential of direct inter-regional cooperation and to launch an annual forum of Central Asian regions," Mirziyoyev said. He noted that the countries of the region need to strive to create a unified favorable business climate to improve the overall regional investment attractiveness.
The Uzbek leader also proposed to develop common approaches to the formation of the Central Asian space of industrial localization and import substitution on the basis of national programs of industrial development.
"Here it is important to understand and support efforts to replace expensive and not always high quality imports from third countries with the products of our manufacturers," Mirziyoyev stressed.
