Presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan to meet during the Centre 2019 strategic command-and-staff exercises

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit the main phase of the Centre 2019 strategic command-and-staff exercises in the Orenburg region, as well as meet with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

 

 

According to the press service of the administration of the Russian leader, the heads of state together will inspect an exhibition of weapons and military equipment, after which they will hold talks at the landfill.

 

 

The Centre 2019 strategic command-and-staff exercises involve about 128,000 service members from eight countries: Russia, China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

 

 

In 2019, Putin and Jeenbekov met four times. Their first talks were held on February 9 in Sochi. In March, the Russian President paid a state visit to Kyrgyzstan. Putin and Jeenbekov held their next meeting on June 13 in Bishkek on the sidelines of the Shanghai cooperation organization summit.

 

 

The last time the heads of Russia and Kyrgyzstan met in July 2019. The meeting was held in Moscow where the parties discussed the issues related to the integration and development of bilateral relations
