Russian and Turkish presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan may hold a separate meeting to discuss the situation around Syria's Idlib, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told a press conference in Baku.
"Erdogan and Putin had a telephone conversation, during which all issues were openly discussed. It was decided to continue working together. We are now waiting for the arrival of a delegation from Russia. After that, if necessary, leaders can meet. Our goal is to stop the attacks," Turkish Foreign Minister said.
On February 3 Turkish aircraft and artillery struck 54 targets in Idlib, resulting in the death of 76 Syrian soldiers. This attack was in response to the Syrian army's shelling of Turkish positions in Saraqib, which led to the death of five Turkish soldiers.
On February 4, Erdogan and Putin agreed in a telephone conversation on measures through the country's defense ministries to improve coordination of actions in Syria.
