Authorized representatives of the governments of Uzbekistan and Russia signed documents simplifying procedures for the organized departure of Uzbek migrant workers to the Russian Federation. This was reported on Friday by the information agency "Dunyo" ("Peace") under the Foreign Ministry of the republic.
According to the "Dunyo", the agreement was signed in Moscow by representatives of the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan, FSUE "Passport and Visa Service" under the Russian Interior Ministry and the state budget institution "Multifunctional Migration Center".
"The purpose of signing the documents is to simplify the procedures for the organized departure of the citizens of the republic, intending to carry out temporary labor activities in Russia," the report said. It is noted that in accordance with the agreement, offices will be opened at the migration centers in Uzbekistan, which are authorized to issue work permits in Russia.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan offered the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to open a representative office of a Russian passport and visa service in the republic in 2021.
According to the relevant agencies, about 1.5 million citizens of Uzbekistan, whose population is 34.2 million people, are working in Russia.
