Protesters in Bangladesh have stormed and vandalized the residence of Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in Dhaka, according to the local publication Prothom Alo.
The report notes that smoke was seen rising from Khan's residence during the incident.
Earlier, Khan had confirmed the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, stating that the armed forces would temporarily assume control of the country’s administration.
On Monday, Hasina departed Dhaka, with a military helicopter transporting her to Agartala in the eastern Indian state of Tripura. According to News18, she is expected to travel to London afterward.
Bangladesh Army Commander Waker-uz-Zaman has confirmed the establishment of an interim government. He has called for an end to the violence and assured that the new authorities will investigate all deaths that occurred during the protests to ensure justice.
