Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. The main topic of discussion was the situation in Libya and Syria. According to the press service of the Kremlin, both leaders spoke of the need to cease clashes in Libya as soon as possible and without any precondition.
"Russian President praised Germany’s mediation to renew intra-Libyan dialogue and involve the international community more actively in searching for a peaceful solution to the problem," the message reads.
As for Syria, Putin and Merkel stressed the importance of solving humanitarian problems, including ensuring the return of refugees.
