Presidents of Russia and Tajikistan Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon discussed in a telephone conversation topics related to the situation in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Kremlin press service following the conversation between the leaders.
The conversation took place as a follow-up to an extraordinary online summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which was held earlier via video link.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon discussed several issues related to the situation in Kazakhstan in a telephone conversation," the report said.
Thus, the conversation noted "the timeliness and effectiveness of assistance through the CSTO, provided in accordance with the appeal of the Kazakh leadership".
The Kremlin specified that the leaders also touched on the Afghan problem, in particular the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border. Further contacts at various levels were agreed upon.
